The Central Minnesota Boy’s Choir leadership program is in its 12th successful year. Boys who have been in the choir for two or more years are eligible for the leadership team, which trains during the summer. The boys on the leadership team help with warm-ups, attendance, and organizational items during rehearsals and on tour.

Mary Moen is currently the elementary music specialist at Staples Elementary in Staples, Minnesota. She also directs the Staples Motley Elementary Choir, made up of students in fourth and fifth grade. Mary is a graduate of Bemidji State University. She has done graduate work at The University of North Dakota, where she was a graduate assistant, and the University of St. Thomas, where she studied Kodaly technique.

Debra is recently retired from the Verndale Public Schools, where she taught K-12 vocal music. She has a K-12 music degree from Concordia College in Moorhead. Deb is the choir director for the Sanctuary Choir at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wadena, where she also plays organ and piano. She has many years of experience accompanying vocal groups and soloists throughout the region. She is currently enjoying some time with grandchildren, teaches piano lessons, and is substitute teaching in the area. We are thrilled that she still makes time to accompany our choirs!

Sheila works with Business Services at Central Lakes College, Staples Campus. Sheila started out as a choir parent and has remained involved with the choir for many years. She graduated from Dickinson State University in Dickinson, ND with an Associate of Arts degree. Sheila also acts as tour manager for the boys choir.
